Join the team at Great Adventures and help create unforgettable experiences for our guests visiting the Great Barrier Reef! We’re looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Assistant to work in our Reef Memories souvenir store.
About the Role:
As a Retail Assistant, you’ll be the friendly face greeting our guests and helping them find the perfect memento of their reef experience. You’ll assist with sales, stock presentation, cash handling and maintaining a welcoming and professional retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all guests
- Maximise sales opportunities through product knowledge and upselling
- Operate the point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash and EFTPOS transactions and complete daily balancing
- Maintain stock levels and assist with regular stocktakes
- Ensure the store is clean, tidy, and well-presented at all times
- Assist with product displays and merchandising
- Work independently in a small-to-medium–sized souvenir store, maintaining a high level of professionalism
Key Details of the Position:
- Part-time position with varied shifts on a 7-day roster cycle
- Hours between 7:30am–1:30pm
- 3-5 days per week based on operational needs
- Includes regular weekend and public holiday work
- Based at the Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven sales record with a strong customer focus
- Previous experience in cash handling and daily balancing of cash registers
- Experience in stock control and stocktaking
- Ability to work independently and without supervision
- Reliable and flexible to work across a rotating roster
- Have unrestricted rights to work in Australia on an ongoing basis
- Well-presented, with excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine interest in the Great Barrier Reef and the local tourism industry
